This past Wednesday, the energy in The Bridge District was palpable as community leaders, project partners, and neighbors came together for the much-anticipated Going Vertical event. Against the backdrop of a crisp December morning, we gathered to celebrate the ‘going vertical’ of a transformative step forward in the evolution of The Bridge District.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Sarah Barkawi, VP of Marketing at Fulcrum Property, who set the stage by acknowledging attendees, including Mayor Martha Guerrero, key community leaders, and project partners. Her introduction highlighted the importance of this development not only for The Bridge District but also for the entire city of West Sacramento.

Mayor Guerrero followed with an inspiring speech, reflecting on the vision and commitment that have shaped The Bridge District. She spoke of the catalytic impact of visionary projects like this one, which will bring waterfront urban living, state-of-the-art amenities, and innovative office spaces to our community.

Mark Friedman, the driving force behind The Bridge District, then took the stage to delve into the broader vision of the area’s transformation, emphasizing how this development builds on years of thoughtful planning and investment.

The event continued with Randy Koss, President of Fulcrum Property, providing detailed updates on the project. Randy highlighted the unique features of the project, including Fulcrum Property’s own headquarters moving to the new office spaces—underscoring the company’s deep commitment to the neighborhood they’ve helped shape.

Concluding the speeches, Ron Brown of Brown Construction spoke about the pride his team feels in bringing this project to life. Not only are they the builders but they will also call it home, as Brown Construction relocates its headquarters to the site alongside Fulcrum Property.

Attendees enjoyed coffee and pastries from our local all-day café right here in The Bridge District, Franquette.

This milestone event marks more than just the start of a building—it represents a commitment to creating a thriving, vibrant waterfront community. We look forward to sharing more updates as the project comes to life, and we thank everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting moment in The Bridge District’s journey.
